Californian Samoa

I spent a few days on the strip of land west of Arcata/Eureka, between the ocean and a bay; Samoa is one of the few small towns there.  All else is open land, ocean, industry and beautiful desolation.  The town of Samoa itself feels like a sleepy dream, or perhaps a perfect place to remake Stephen King’s “The Stand”; local life moves at its own pace.
